I think that any people group will develop their own 'religion' by virtue of association and commonly held beliefs. But, to develop their own 'Bible' assumes that God is not instructive and that man is the author. Where would any authority derive from such a book, if it is to be a guide to living or provide an ethic for life in any time or era?
To answer the question, Yes ! The biggest piece of misinformation plague-ing the world is that people actually believe that the bible is the word of God. People never take into account the fact that the book itself was not one scripture sent down at the same time, it was a group of men that decided what books would be included, and what books would be secluded in Rome, in the year 325 a.d. A little bit of research reveals that the word " bible " can't even be found in the bible. Most scholars of theology won't admit to the religious world that the book they call the bible was translated 14 different times in 7 different languages before a practicing witchcraft king named James sent out 46 scribes to find William Tynedales version and then placed his name on it. So Yes, Blacks need their own bible, because our history predates bible history. We need a book that tells the origins of our lives here on this planet. We need a bible that directs us as a people because we are different than any other race of people on this planet. Our children need to see the people of the scriptures as black and brown skinned people ( which they were ) so that we don't raise another generation of self hating, low esteemed, people with no desire to improve themselves or their surroundings because someone coming out of the sky will do all that work for us. To date there is only one such " bible " like this. It's called " The Holy Tablets ". It's Author is Dr. Malachi Z. York. He has been the most influential black scholar of theology, history , and science since 1967, yet he is rarely mentioned because of the hatred our people have been taught to have for one another. We need our own religion, because we pray different. You cannot take a bunch of blacks and stick them into a catholic church. Where would the soul come into place? Where is the music. The dance. The feeling that blacks only get from one another in our churches. - I'll put it simply, the bible was forced onto us, the Koran ( Qur'aan) was forced onto us. We had cultures in Egipt and Sumeria that existed for thousands of years before we were forced into a religious mindset of belief and expectationalism. There was a time when we were the gods that everyone worshipped. The time has come now for the gods to re-awaken.
